Fire in municipality office
Barguna: Fire broke out at municipality office of Patharghata in Barguna in the early hours of Monday.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
The municipality officials said the fire, which was broke out at about 3:30am, originated from the office of municipality licence inspector.
The fire destroyed licence documents and furniture of the room.
Patharghata fire service went to the spot and brought the fire under control.
License inspector Biplob Kumar Roy said a glass bottle was found at the room after the flames were doused. It has been assumed that someone hurled petrol bomb at the office.
Patharghata police officer-in-charge Shahnewaz after visiting the spot said it is not possible to hurl a bomb at the office as the windows of the room was locked during the accident. He said short circuit was not occurred as the electric lines are fine. Police is trying to find out the reason behind the accident.
