3 abducted businessmen found murdered in Bandarban

Three cow traders who were abducted from Thanchi upazila in Bandarban on Friday have been found murdered.

Thanchi police station officer-in-charge Sirajul Islam told NTV Online the bodies were found at Thanchi on Monday.

The deceased are Abu Bakkar, around 40; Shahab Uddin, around 25; and Afsar Ali, around 35.

Families of the abducted traders filed general diary with the Thanchi police station on Saturday.

The OC said the traders were hacked to death. He also said four people have been detained as suspects.

Deceased Abu Bakkar’s younger brother Abul Hashem said, ‘My brother, along with two others, went to buy cows with Tk 2.5 lakh at the Dim Pahar area. Miscreants abducted them at gun point there and I was informed about it over mobile.’

Tk 50,000 more was sent through Bkash according to abductors’ demand. But on Monday an unidentified man called Hashem over phone and informed him about the bodies. Later, Police recovered the bodies.
