Sirajganj: Two workers were killed and five others injured as a boiler blasted at a rice mill at Rameshwargati village in Rayganj upazila of Sirajganj on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Nasiruddin, and Idris Ali, 24, residents of the village, reported UNB.

The Raigaj police Officer-in-charge Rashedul Islam said Nasiruddin and Idris, along with five others, were boiling rice at a rice mill at the village in the morning.

At one stage, the boiler of the rice mill went off with a big bang at about 7:00am, leaving Nasiruddin and Idris dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were whisked off to Shaheed Mohammad Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
