Dhaka: Police in a drive arrested four people for their suspected link to the killing of a muazzin in Islampur area of Old Dhaka from different parts of Dhaka on Tuesday.

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

Details of the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing later, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police M Maruf Hossain Sarder.

Earlier on 4 April, Billal Hossain, believed to be 55 years, muazzjin of Jabbar Khan Jam-e-Masjid, was found stabbed dead inside the mosque in Islampur area of Dhaka.

He had been living in a room of the three-storey mosque.
