2 buses collision claims 12 lives

Rangpur: At least twelve people were killed and several others injured when two buses collided head-on at Taraganj upazila in Rangpur on Wednesday morning.
The Rangpur superintend of police Abdur Razzak said a Simon Enterprise bus from Sylhet collided head-on with a Tripti Enterprise bus from Dinajpur collided head-on near Ekorchali area on Rangpur-Syedpur Highway at about 10:40am and left six dead on the spot.
Later, six other people were died.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Ranpur fire service official said six bodies were recovered from the spot.
The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and several other hospitals and clinics, reports UNB.
The SP said fire fighters and police members are working to rescue the passengers.
However, transport plying halted on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway following the accident.
