Teachers and students of the political studies department of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) brought out a procession on the campus marking its 20th founding anniversary on Wednesday. Photo: NTV

The Political Studies department of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) celebrated its 20th founding anniversary on Wednesday.

The day was celebrated with amid festivity and fanfares joined by former and present students.

SUST vice-chancellor Professor Aminul Haque Bhuyan joined the celebration and took part in the procession that was joined by the teachers and employees of the department.

The procession began at about 11.00am front the department at academic building ‘D’ and ended at the central auditorium, where former students and teachers recollected their days in the department.

A seminar on ‘Politics and Bangladesh’ was also held at the central auditorium as the part of celebration. Keynote speaker of the seminar was Professor Sayed Anwar Hossain from University of Dhaka.

Political Studies chair Dilara Rahman presided over the function which was also addressed by the vice-chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuyan, Professor Kamal Ahmed Chowdhury and Professor SM Hasan.
