Dhaka: Vessel workers went on an indefinite strike across the country early on Thursday to press home their 15-point charter of demands.

Bangladesh Water Transport Workers Federation and Bangladesh River Vessel Workers Federation jointly enforced the work abstention, reports UNB.

The associations’ demands include raising the minimum wage of the vessel workers to Tk4, 150 to Tk8,250.

A leader of Bangladesh Water Transport Workers Federation said the strike started at about 12:01midnight.
