Chittagong: Police have arrested the prime accused in connection with the murder of a woman and her daughter in Boalkhali upazila, from Boiltali village of Chandanish upazila on Thursday noon, reported UNB.

Officer-in-charge of Boalkhali Police Station M Salahuddin Chowdhury said a police team launched a drive in the area at noon and arrested Asim Sheel, husband of slain Shelly Sheel, and father of Antara.

Shelly Sheel, 35, was found hanging from the ceiling while her five-year-old daughter Antara Sheel lay dead on the bed of their house at Dakhkhin Kunjuri village in Boalkhali upazila on Tuesday morning.

Shelly’s mother Minoti Sheel filed a murder case against seven people, including Asim, the same day.

Police had earlier arrested Shelly’s mother-in-law, that is Asim’s mother, as well as another relative from their house on Wednesday.
