Sheikh Hasina opens new passport, visa offices
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday formally inaugurated the newly-constructed buildings of divisional passport and visa office as well as nine regional passport offices.
The Prime Minister made the inaugurations at a function at the Department of Immigration and Passports in the Dhaka’s Agargaon area along with the Passport Service Week 2016, reported UNB.
With the inaugurations of the newly-constructed buildings of regional passport offices, the hassle of the people of nine districts in having passports is expected to be over.
Besides, the sufferings of the people of capital Dhaka in receiving passports are also expected to be reduced with the opening of the newly-built building of divisional passport and visa offices.
The newly-inaugurated buildings of regional passport offices are in Manikganj, Kushtia, Pabna, Patuakhali, Feni, Brahmmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Munshiganj and Dinajpur.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, lawmaker, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Dr Mozammel Haque Khan spoke on the occasion while Director General of the Department of Immigration and Passports Brigadier General Md Masud Rezwan delivered the welcome address.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Adarsha Mohila College on the college colawmaker ound.
