Jessore: A mobile court on Sunday sentenced a suspended policeman to one year’s imprisonment on charge of stalking a girl.

The convict is Rahmat Ali, 36, a suspended constable of Jessore Kotwali Police Station and permanent resident of Sutrapur in Dhaka.

Sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station Touhidul Islam said a police team arrested Rahmat from Karbal intersection of the district town at about 10:00am for stalking a girl.

Later, he was produced before the mobile court of executive magistrate Nahid Tamanna who handed down the verdict, he said.
