Xulhaz killers to be tracked down soon: IGP
Dhaka: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque on Tuesday hoped that the killers of USAID staff Xulhaz and his friend Tanoy will be netted soon after identifying them.
‘We do hope we’ll detect the killers and bring them under the law,’ said the police chief while talking to reporters after inspecting the murder scene this morning.
‘We could have detected evidence of most of the criminal incidents committed by militants in the past and recovered firearms and explosives used in them. Many of the perpetrators are now in detention,’ the IGP added.
Shahidul Hoque also said the Kalabagan double murder was a planned one and the victims had been under the killers’ watch for days.
‘We do have a good number of skilled investigators who will conduct the probe with very much sincerity,’ he said.
DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah and other high officials were present during the press briefing.
