DB to probe Kalabagan double murder
Dhaka: The case, filed over the killing of two people, including a USAID staff, in the Dhaka’s Kalabagan area on Monday evening, has been transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Ibrahim Khan, additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said the case was transferred to the DB police from Kalabagan Police Station on Wednesday for a thorough investigation, reported UNB.
Earlier on Monday, USAID staff Xulhaz Mannan, and his friend Tanoy, an activist of the theatre group Loknatya Dal, were hacked to death at an apartment in Kalabagan area.
The criminals also stabbed Parvez Mollah, a guard of the building, leaving him injured.
He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Minhaz Mamun Emon, elder brother of the deceased, Xulhaz Mannan, the protocol officer of former US ambassador Dan W Mozena, filed the murder case with Kalabagan police station.
