Man killed in clash over land in Gazipur

Gazipur: A farmer was killed and at least 10 people were injured in a clash over a land-related dispute at Kashimpur in Gazipur city on Wednesday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased is Abdul Gafur, 55, a resident of the area.
Quoting locals, In-charge of Chakrabarti Police Camp Sub-inspector Saiful Islam said Gafur had been at loggerheads over a piece of land with his neighbour Rahiz Miah.
On Wednesday morning, Gafur went to the land to cut paddy but Rahiz Miah, along with his supporters, opposed it.
On information, supporters of Gafur rushed in and locked into an altercation with Rihaz group, leading to a clash that left Garur dead on the spot and 10 other people injured.
Later, the body was sent to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
