Jamaat man hacked dead in Moulvibazar
Moulvibazar: An activist of Jamaat-e-Islami was hacked to death by miscreants at Madhabkunda Bazar in Barlekha upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is Jalal Ahmad, 33, a resident of BOC Khesrigul village of the upazila.
Barlekha police officer-in-charge Maniruzzaman said a group of miscreants picked up Jalal from Kathaltali Bazar at about 8:00pm on Tuesday.
Later, they hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately and left him at Madhabkunda Bazar.
Informed, police rescued him and took him to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where he died at about 9:30am on Wednesday.
Jalal’s sister Manira Begum claimed that a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men killed her brother after taking him away.
