Kushtia: A young man died after hacking by his rival groups in Batikamari railgate area of Kumarkhali in Kushtia in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased is Ranju Hossaim, 30.

Kumarkhali police officer-in-charge Mohibul Islam quoting the local people said Ranju’s rival group supporters hacked him with sharp weapon as he reached in front his Kumarkhali rail gate residence at about 9:00am on Wednesday.

Local people took Ranju at Kushtia General Hospital and later he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. Ranju died undergoing treatment at RMCH at about 3:30am on Thursday. 

The OC said Ranju was killed over previous enmity.
