5 burnt in Feni firebomb attack

Feni: Five people including a truck driver and his assistant were burnt as miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a pick-up van in Matubhuiyan area of Daganbhuiyan upazila on Feni-Maijdee road in the early hours of Friday.

The injured are pick-up van driver Yusuf, 55, driver’s assistant Rabiul, 16, Abul Hossain, 49, Wasim, 28, and Rokon, 24.

The witnesses said miscreants threw petrol bomb at the Noakhali-bound fish-laden pick-up van from Nimsar of Comilla as it neared Daganbhuiyan at about 6:15am.

The local people took the burnt to Feni Sadar Hospital.

Sadar Hospital emergency unit doctor Foyez Akbar told NTV Online that the five victims suffered severe burn injuries in their bodies and faces.

He also said that three critically burnt will be sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
