Mymensingh: Six people were killed and two others injured after a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Bhapkir intersection in Muktagachha upazila on early Saturday.

Among the deceased three were identified: Alal Uddin, Samir Ali, and Akbar Ali.

Muktagachha Police officer-in-charge Kamal Hossain said the accident took place in the area at 6:15am when a truck hit a Mymensingh-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot and six others injured.

The injured were primarily taken to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex; later, two were shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Muktagacha police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent them to MMCH morgue.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to escape from the scene.
