Dhaka: Chittagong city unit Awami League president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury on Saturday said all need to work together to ensure the win of party-backed mayoral candidate, AJM Nasir Uddin, in the forthcoming Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) elections.

The veteran politician and former CCC mayor said he is fully confident of AJM Nasir’s success in the polls, billed for 28 April next.

‘Probably, you know about me better. I’ve long experience. So, I know better the election techniques and we’ll win the voters’ hearts,’ he said.

The AL leader who had earlier been elected CCC mayor thrice, in 1994, 2000 and 2005, said he has sketched out a plan in consultation with all leaders to ensure Nasir’s win. ‘If we can implement it, we’ll win.’

Mohiuddin had earlier declared himself as the mayoral candidate ‘backed’ by the AL-led 14-party combine.
