A regional committee of the Council to Free Alhaz Mossadek Ali was formed in Barisal on Saturday.

It demanded immediate release of the NTV Chairman Alhaz Mossadak Ali, also the president of Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).

The 31-member regional committee was formed with former Barisal Medical College principal Professor Aziz Rahim as the convener and Barisal Nagarik Samaj general secretary Professor Mizanur Rahman as the member secretary.

Professor Saidul Islam, Bazlur Rashid Hawlader, Shamim Ara Lipi and Professor Faizunnessa Shelley were made join conveners.

The other members of the committee are Mohammed Habibur Rahmn, Nurul Alam Farid, Major (retd) Shamsuddin Khan, Humayun Kabir, Shamim Ahsan, Mohsin Ul Islam Hablu, Mujibur Rahman, Shahidul Islam, Abdul Kader, Dinara Begum, Hossain Shikder, Jebunnessa Begum, Mokhlesur Rahman Bacchu, Harun Or Rashid, Tahura Begum, Shoaib Ahmed, Aklima Jahan, Madhab Kundu Roy, Mujibur Rahman, Fuad Reza Manum , Mithun Farhana, Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury, Iqbal Rashid Opu, Firoz Mostofa and Nasir Uddin. 

Earlier on 26 February intellectuals, education experts, writers and poets, doctors, cultural activists and social workers in Dhaka formed the Council to Free Alhaz Mohammad Mossadak Ali.
