Chittagong: Police arrested a suspected top leader of banned Islamic militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a house in Baganbari area, Dhaka on Monday morning.

The arrested is Ershad, a resident of Dinajpur district.

Akbar Shah Police officer-in-charge Subir Das said a team of police raided a house in the area and arrested Ershad around 7:30am.

The law enforcers also recovered huge explosives, bomb-making materials and jihadi books from the house.
