Munshiganj: A suspected robber was lynched in a mob attack at Purarbagh village of Srinagar upazila, Gazipur in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased is Farid Molla, a resident of Ranipur village in Dohar upazila.

Shrinagar Police officer-in-charge Mujibur Rahman said a gang of armed robbers entered into the house of Azim of the village at about 2:00am.

Hearing the screams of the house inmates, local people went to the spot and beaten one of the robbers to death.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
