Chittagong: A man was burnt in a fire that broke out in two colonies at Miakhan of Baklia in Chittagong city in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased Nur Mohammad, in his fifties, burnt to death while he was sleeping.

Lamabazar fire station in-charge Rejaye Rabbi said at least 60 houses were gutted in the fire, which engulfed Alamgir colony and Selim colony of the area at about 12:30am.

Fire fighters recovered Nur’s charred body on Monday morning.

Fire station in-charge said the fire originated from mosquito coil.

The fire fighters doused the fire after 3 hours and recovered goods worth Tk 8lakh.
