Chuadanga: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a Chhatra Dal leader from a field at Kharagoda village in Chuaganga on Wednesday.

The deceased was Mirajul Islam, former JCD Jhenidah municipality unit joint general secretary and son of Jonab Ali of Kanchanagar village in the sadar upazila.

Police said, local people spotted the body of Mirza at a maize field.  

Later police recovered the body of Mirza in the morning and sent it to sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.  

Ibad Ali, brother of the deceased, alleged that plainclothes police picked up Mirza from a local dormitory in Jhenidah sadar upazila on 14 March and since then he remained missing.

Jhenidah police officer-in-charge Biplab Kumar Nath said none lodged any complaint with the police station over Mirza’s disappearance.

Munshi Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, said a case was filed in this connection.
