4 killed as bus hit horse-drawn cart

Rangpur: Four people were killed when a bus collided with a horse-drawn cart in Mirbag area of Kaunia upazila, Rangpur.
At least 14 people were also injured during the accident.
A fire station official said a Dhaka-bound Fahmida Paribahan bus from Lalmonirhat run over a potato-laden horse cart near Jummarpar in Mirbagh at about 11:00pm on Thursday.

The bus lost its control after hitting the horse cart and plunged into a ditch.

Fire fighters recovered the passengers and bus in an overnight operation.

The injured were taken to Rangpur and Kaunia Medical Hospitals.

Police said two of the bodies have been kept at Kaunia Hospital.

Meanwhile, a body was kept at Rangpur Medical College Hospital and another at Kaunia police station.

Three of the victims died at the scene. The other died while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The names of the victims have not been disclosed yet.
