Cox’s Bazar: Two people were killed and three others injured as a bus hit them on Chokoria-Maheshkhali road in Chokoria on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Obaidur Rahman and Manjurul Alam of Maijgona village in the upazila.

Chokoria police officer-in-charge Probas Chandra Dhar said the Maheshkhali-bound bus of ‘Shah Amin Paribahan’ hit a bicycle and three pedestrians at Maijgona village on the road at about 1:30pm, leaving bicycle riders — Obaidur and Manjurul— dead on the spot and the pedestrians injured critically.

The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Police said they seized the bus but its driver managed to flee the scene.
