4 found dead in 3 districts

Dhaka: Four people including a woman were found dead separately in Jessore, Rajshahi and Bogra districts on Wednesday.

In Bogra, throat-slit body of a private car driver, Ripon Ahmed, in his thirties, of Namuza Sonapur area, was found dead from under a culvert at Shalikha village in Shahjahanpur upazila on Wednesday morning.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot at about 10:00am and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy, said Shahjahanpur Police Officer-in-charge Alamgir Hossain.

In Rajshahi, a bank employee was found dead at a residential hotel at Lakshmipur area on Wednesday.

Rajpara Police Officer-in-charge Amanullah said Abdullah Al Baki alias Khokon, in his forties, a field officer of Raiganj Branch, Kurigram Agriculture Development Bank and son of Abdul Jabbar of Khalidbad village in Kurigram, boarded on a room at the hotel for filling an appeal before the court in a case filed against him.

Informed by the hotel staffs that there was no response from the room Baki was in, police went to the spot and recovered the body of Khokon breaking open the door of the room, said OC.

Police suspected that Khokon might have died following cardiac arrest.

A woman was found dead at a pond at Sujalpur in Sadar upazila of Jessore on Wednesday.

The deceased is Parul Begum, in her fifties, wife of late Samsur Rahman.

In another incident, an unidentified man, aged about 55, was found dead at No 31 shed of Benapole land port on Wednesday.

Assistant sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station Abdur Rahim said the man hailing from Narail district used to beg door to door near the port area.
