Kushtia: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a young man from Mirpur village in Kumarkhali upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased is Hannan Sheikh, in his thirties, a resident of Boalia village in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah.

Kumarkhali Police Officer-in-charge Ziaur Rahman said Hannan went out of his house for Boalia Bazar in Shailakupa upazila in Jhenaidah and did not return home on Sunday night.

Local people spotted the body of Hannan lying in a field Mirpur village in Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia at about 10:30am on Monday and called police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, the OC added.

A case was filed in this connection.
