Khaleda Zia greets people on Eid
Dhaka: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday greeted all the Muslims of Bangladesh and elsewhere across the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and wished them ‘Eid Mubarak’.
In a message, she said, ‘Eid-ul-Fitr is the biggest festival of the Muslim World…the festival brings the people of all strata—poor, rich and elite alike—on one line.’
She said this religious festival becomes an event for getting together by people of all walks of life with enthusiasm putting aside divisions among them.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh either on Wednesday or Thursday subject to the sighting of Shawal moon.
Khaleda Zia said Eid-ul-Fitr sends out a message to mankind that ‘we all are for all’.
‘As Muslims, it’s our duty to extend our helping and sympathetic hands to the deprived, neglected and relatively poor people of society,’ she said.
She prayed to the Almighty Allah for happiness, peace, progress and prosperity of the country’s people and the Muslim Ummah.
On the Eid day, Khaleda Zia will exchange greetings with eminent citizens and foreign diplomats at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
She will first exchange pleasantries with the heads of diplomatic missions from 12:15pm to 12:45pm, and later with eminent citizens from 12:45pm to 1:45pm.
BNP standing committee members and senior leaders will be present.
