Italian Deputy Minister arrives in Dhaka
Dhaka: Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy Lapo Pistelli arrived Dhaka on Tuesday morning to receive the bodies of nine Italians who were killed in the terror attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan 2 area of the city on Friday.
A special aircraft carrying him arrived at Shahjalal International Airport in the morning.
Later, he visited Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan, accompanied by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
The special aircraft is expected to leave Dhaka with the bodies of the deceased Italians on Tuesday.
Earlier, a special aircraft of Japan government left Shahjalal Airport left Dhaka on Monday night, carrying the bodies of seven Japanese nationals killed in the terrorist attack.
The aircraft landed at Tokyo’s Haneda airport shortly before 6 am (local time), said a diplomatic source.
The Indian government has also taken back the body of Tarishi Jain, the lone Indian national killed during the attack, to New Delhi on Monday night.
Twenty hostages, including nine Italians and one person each from the United States and India as well as the seven Japanese, were killed in the terrorist attack on Friday evening.
