Chittagong: Chittagong police on Saturday caught three young men for their suspected link with militant Islamist organisations at Barovkunda area at Sitakunda.

‘A group of people on Saturday afternoon were holding a meeting at Chemical Complex Gate area at Barovkunda in Sitakunda. At one stage, police with the help of local people surrounded the gathering suspecting that a plan was underway there to carry out violent activities and caught the three while other members of the crowd managed to flee,’ said Reazaul Masud, additional superintendent of police (District Special Branch).

The drive is still continuing and details will be informed later, Masud said.
