Tangail: Two workers were killed and three others were injured in a road accident on the Bangabandhu Bridge link road in Kalihati upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Hasan Ali, in his forties, and Abdul Hamid, in his thirties, residents of Aloahobani village in Sadar upazila, Tangail.

Witnesses said a cement-laden covered van of Premier Cement Company collided with a truck, standing by the road, leaving Hasan Ali dead and four others on the truck injured on the spot.

Later, Abdul Hamid died on the way to hospital.

The other injured were taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
