Sholakia attacker Abir buried in Kishoreganj
Kishoreganj: Abir Rahman, a student of North South University and an alleged militant who was killed in a gunfight with police during the terrorist attack near Sholakia Eidgah, was buried at a local graveyard in Kishoreganj town on Monday, reports UNB.
Kishoreganj model police sub-inspector Sanjoy Kumar said as the family members refused to accept the body of Abir, police took an initiative to bury it.
Caretaker of the graveyard Mahtab Uddin led the Namaj-e- Janaza of Abir where only one people took part, witnesses said.
Quoting Abir’s father, his uncle Sahidul Islam told reporters that as their son was killed in police firing after he was involved in militant activities, they have no interest over his body.
Earlier on 7 July, the Eid day, at least four people, including two policemen, were killed and 12 others injured in a bomb attack coupled with an exchange of gunfire after terrorists attacked at a temporary police check post near Sholakia Eidgah in Sadar upazila of Kishoreganj.
Police recovered two firearms, two local made weapons, two rounds of bullets and four magazines from the spot.
