Govt out to perpetuate its one-party rule: BNP
Dhaka: BNP on Tuesday alleged that the government is constantly repressing its leaders and activists by arresting them in ‘peculiar, false and fabricated’ cases in a bid to give its ‘desired one-party rule’ a permanent shape.
In a statement, party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also alleged that the government has resorted to repressive acts as it got isolated from people.
The statement was issued protesting the arrest of Satkhira district unit BNP general secretary Abdul Alim, reports UNB.
‘Abdul Alim’s arrest has exposed the vindictive politics of the current regime,’ Fakhrul observed.
He warned that people will never allow the government to implement its ‘blueprint’ to re-establish a one-party rule by eliminating BNP through repressive acts.
The BNP secretary general demanded the government immediately release Abdul Alim without any condition.
