An alleged robber was beaten to death and another injured in a mob attack foiling a robbery bid at Kamarpara village in Chiriribandar upazila of Dinajpur on early Thursday.

Quoting local people, police said a gang of robbers numbering 10/12 entered the village in the dead of night targeting to commit robbery.

Sensing their attempt, local people chased them off and managed to catch two of them while the others fled.

Later, the mob gave the robbers a severe beating, leaving one named Azizur Rahman alias Kala Aziz dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured robber was taken to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

Later,  police came in and recovered the body of Aziz.

Aziz was wanted in several cases, said police.
