Indictment hearing against Fakhrul and others on 5 May

Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Thursday set 5 May to hold hearing on charge framing against Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 25 others in a case lodged for vandalizing and setting fire to vehicles.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tarek Moinul Islam Bhuiyan set the date accepting a plea from the defence.
Today was set for holding the hearing but police could not produce the accused before the court. Defence counsel Joynul Abedin Mesbah then pleaded for adjourning the date of hearing.
Police filed the case on 2 March 2013, and sub-inspector Aminul Islam of Paltan Police Station submitted the charge-sheet against 26 including acting secretary general of BNP Fakhrul and joint secretary general Aman Ullah Aman on 26 March of the same year.
