Naogaon: Two workers were killed and six others injured as a boiler blasted at a rice mill at Laskorpur village in Naogaon on Saturday morning.

The deceased were Anwar Hossain,45, a resident of Hapania village of the district, and Sahed,38, a resident of Kurigram.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Shamsul Alam said Anwar and Sahed, along with six others, were boiling rice at Tumpa Auto Rice Mill in the area in the morning.

At one stage, the boiler of the rice mill went off with a big bang at about 7:30am, leaving Anwar dead on the spot and seven others injured.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where Sahed succumbed to his injures, the OC added.
