Police arrest schoolteacher for patronising Gulshan attackers
Savar: Police have arrested a schoolteacher from Vadail area of Ashulia for patronising Shafiqul Islam Uzzal, a militant outfit, who was killed in an army raid after the armed militants swooped on Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery restaurant on 1 July.
Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohsinul Kadir told BSS that Mohammad Milon Hossain, 32, a teacher of Piar Ali School and College of Pabnartek area was arrested from Vadail area on Wednesday.
He said Milon was shown arrest under Anti-Terrorism Act and subsequently produced before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday and sought 10 days to question him in police custody. The court granted five days to quiz more about the Gulshan terror attacks that killed 20 innocent people, mostly foreign nationals and two police officers.
Milon is son of Abdul Jalil, an inhabitant of Betki village under Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat. He also served as a teacher at Madari Matbor Memorial Academy since 23 February 2013.
