11 BNP activists held in Dhaka
Dhaka: Police arrested 11 leaders and activists of BNP from near the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Thursday morning.
Paltan Police Officer-in-charge Morshed Alamsaid law enforcers arrested the 11 BNP activists, including party’s assistant office secretary Taiful Islam, in the morning.
Police arrested them while the BNP activists were moving towards the party headquarters.
The arrest was made moments before the High Court verdict on an appeal against acquittal of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi while addressing a press briefing at the party office also claimed the arrest of the eleven leaders and activists.
