Benapole: Police in separate drives arrested five activists and leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir in Pazia Bazar in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore on Thursday night.

Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive at Pajia Bazar and arrested Mehedi Hasan, Mamun Hossain, and Rahsed Ahmed.

Later in another drive police arrested Alfazur Rahman, and Hasan Gazi, in the upazila at the same night.

Police also recovered two hand bombs, a party banner, some leaflets and books from their possession.

A case was filed with Keshabpur Police.
