A total of  twelve people were killed and many others were injured as Kalbaishakhi lashed several north-western districts in the country on Saturday. 

Besides, at least five people were injured in Dhaka during the storm.

The four deceased in Rajshahi are Jahanara Begum of Pakuria village and Emajuddin of Kishorepur village in Bagha upazila, Monwara Begum of Char Asariadah village in Godagari upazila and Abul Hossain of Borgachhi village in Poba upazila.

In Bogra, five people, including a child were killed at Sadar and Shajahanpur upazilas.

The deceased are Hanufa and Baby of Sadar upazila. Baby was of two and half months old. The two others are Abdul Mannan and Rabeya of Shajahanpur upazila.

Lightening killed a young man in Natore.

In Pabna, Jan Uddin, a man in his fifties died as a banyan tree tumbled down on his tea-stall.

Another person was died and several others were injured in Naogaon during the storm.
