Habiganj: Awami League on Saturday suspended its four leaders in Habiganj on charge of breaching party discipline, report UNB.

The leaders facing the music are Abul Hashem Mollah Masum, joint general secretary of Habiganj AL, its treasurer Abdur Rahman, Shah Mohammad Muslim, president of the Madhabpur upazila AL, and Benu Madhab Roy, president of the Madhabpur municipality unit of the ruling party.

Shah Fakhruzzaman, deputy press secretary of the district Al, said the suspension came following a decision at a meeting at the party office at about 2:30pm.

District AL President Mohammad Abu Zahir MP presided over the meeting.

The four were given the punishment as they took position against the party nominated candidates in the last municipal and union council elections, said the party activists.
