Dhaka: Two workers were electrocuted in Bijoy Sarani area under Kafrul upazila in the capital on early Sunday.

The deceased are, Mizanur Rahman, in his late thirties, and Iqbal Hossain, believed to be 30, residents of Chatkhil, Noakhali, BSS writes.

Kafrul Police officer-in-charge Abdul Kaiyum said, ‘They came in contact with a live electric wire while they were fixing a billboard damaged by storm at about 1:45am in the area and died on the spot.’

Police sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

The bodies are kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
