Bogra Kalboishakhi casualties climb to 14

Bogra: Nine more people were found dead on Sunday after violent kalboishakhi lashed Bogra on Saturday night, raising the death toll to 14.
Besides, power supply to the district remained snapped since Saturday night, as the storm damaged many electric poles apart from uprooting a large number of trees.
Bogra Deputy Commissioner Shafiqur Reza said most of the casualties took place due to wall collapse, boat capsize and fall of tree branches during the storm.
The deceased were identified as Asrin Begum of Baubazar area of Sadar uapzila, six-month-old child Nila, Palash of Palsha, Ismail Hossain and Azizul Haque of Kahalu upazila, Payel Miah, Abdul Manna and Rabeya Khtun of Shahjahanpur upazila, Firoza Beum of Sonatola upazila, Shanta Begum of Sariakandi upazila, Mojam Mandal, Sujan Afjal of Dhunat and Asira of Gabtoli area.
District Power Development Board (PDB) official said power supply to the district may resume on Monday.
Five people, including a child and two women, were killed on Saturday as storm swept the district.
