The size of the 2015-16 fiscal year budget will be around Tk 3 trillion, says Finance Minister AMA Muhith.

Muhith made the statement in a pre-budget discussion at the National Economic Council (NEC) on Sunday.

The minister said ‘Issues like health, education, sanitation, and human resource development will get preference in the next budget.’

He also said that there will be no opportunity for whitening black money. But one will avail the opportunity giving ten percent fine.

Muhith will announce the budget for the 2015-16 fiscal at the parliament in June. It will be the second budget announced by the Awami League-led Alliance in their current tenure.

AMA Muhith announced the budget of almost Tk 2.5 trillion for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

Awami League came into power for the consecutive second time winning the 5 January 2014 election. But, the main opposition of the ninth parliament Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) boycotted that election.
