Dhaka: Renewing her resolve to crush terrorism and militancy from the country with the help of people, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged all to stay alert as terrorists are using ICT in their evil works.

‘Though good works are done through the ICT, the terrorists and militants are also using it... we’ll have to be very alert in this regard,’ she said.

The prime minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day ‘Civil Service in Development Innovation-2016’ Summit at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre here aimed at highlighting Digital Bangladesh and Vision-2021 through different innovations at home and abroad.

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘This is our county. Let’s engage ourselves in innovating and utilising ICT for the country’s development. Let’s sacrifice our present for the future generation. I firmly believe, we can uproot terrorism and militancy from our soil forever with the help of people.’

She asked the government employees of every sector like the administration, law enforcement agencies, agriculture, education, health, information & technology, communication and infrastructure development to think again to develop the country and generate new ideas and innovation. ‘I firmly believe, together you all will build a modern, service-oriented, proactive civil service to meet the challenges of 21st century,’ she added.
