Dhaka: The United States is yet to confirm the citizenship of Shazad Rouf Arko who was killed in a recent drive in militants den in Dhaka though the Washington Post reported he was a US citizen.

‘I've seen reports that a US citizen was killed in a police raid in Dhaka. We understand that there's an ongoing law enforcement investigation into the matter,’ said John Kirby, Spokesperson of the US Department of State in a briefing on Thursday.

When pressed further for confirmation, the Spokesperson said he can only confirm that they have seen reports that a US citizen was killed in a police raid in Dhaka.

‘We're going to decline further comment,’ Kirby said asking the questioner to talk with local authorities for more detail on that.

Nine alleged militants were killed on Tuesday morning during a special drive of law enforcement agencies in Dhaka's Kalyanpur area.
