Dhaka: The death toll in the Kamrangirchar factory fire incident on July 23 rose to five as another burnt worker died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning.

The deceased, Monir, who suffered 48 percent burn injuries to his body died at the burn and plastic surgery unit of DMCH at about 9:30am, the hospital sources said.

Earlier on July 28, Sumon and Sajib who used to work at Brishti Fashion’s factory at Alinagar under Kamrangirchar police station in the capital, died at the hospital.

Md Nazmul Islam and Md Shakil died on July 25 and July 26 respectively.  

The five were among the six who received burn injuries when a fire ripped through the factory while they were sleeping inside it.
