Gopalganj: Police arrested a man for allegedly violating his niece at Ichakhali village in Gopalganj early Saturday.

The arrestee was Alid Molla,17, son of Nazrul Molla, a resident of the village.

Quoting family members, Gopalganj Police Station Officer-in charge Selim Reza said Alid lured his four-year-old niece into his house with a guava and violated her there on Friday evening.  

The girl after returning home informed her mother about the incident.

The mother filed a case against Alid with the police station.

Later, police arrested Alid from his house at about 12:30am.
