Jessore: An organised gang of dopers looted cash and valuables worth Tk five lakh from three members of a family by making them unconscious in a bus on the Jessore-Magura Highway on Friday night, reports UNB.

The victims are Salma Begum, her daughter Shoma, 16, and son Rabbi, 14.

Salma said she along with her daughter and son was going to her village, Harishpur, in Shalikha upazila of Magura riding a bus of ‘Eagle Paribahan’ to attend her elder daughter’s wedding.

When the bus reached the Paturia ferry terminal in Manikganj, the trio got off the bus and had three glasses of sugarcane juice.

Later, after returning to their bus, all the three became unconscious at about 10:30pm.

At one stage, members of the doper gang looted eight finger rings, other golden ornaments and two mobile phone sets—which will be worth Tk four lakh in total—and Tk one lakh cash from them.

As the matter came to the notice of the driver of the bus, he got the victims down from the bus at Shimakhali Bazar on the Jessore-Magura Highway.

Later, locals whisked them off to Jessore Medical College Hospital.
