Chuadanga: Miscreants attacked a gathering place of Bauls and set it on fire after assaulting four of them at Gobindopur village in Damurhuda upazila on Friday midnight.

The injured Bauls were identified as Sadhu Guru Julmat Ali Shah, her wife Momena Begum, Khadem Harendranath Goshai and Rinupad Halder.

The incident took place two weeks after such an attack on another Baul Akhra in Jibannagar uapzila of the district, reported UNB.

Witnesses said a gang of masked miscreants attacked the Akhra village around 12pm and torched it.

The miscreants tied up Julmat and Harendranath with a tree and cut their hair. Later, they also tied up Momena and Rinupad.

The criminals also threatened to kill them if they do not leave the village within 10 days, said victim Julmat.

On information, Rashidul Hasan, superintendent of Chuadanga Police, visited the spot.

Earlier on July 18, miscreants attacked a Baul akhra and stabbed three Bauls in Ektarpur village in Jibannagar upazila.
